You’ll Say Nothing

You’ll Say Nothing is a video project that contains interviews with experts in the fields of speech language pathology, trauma, psychology, psychiatry and psychophysiology.

This project – for the first time in documentary form – addresses the reality of the consequential implications that trauma can have on the voice, affecting one’s self-expression and communication.

The voice is a fundamental instrument of communication. Voices convey information about one’s emotions, biology and history. The significant effects that trauma can have on voice remain largely unexplored, except for case studies in therapy, particularly concerning psychogenic voice disorders. This documentary explores a scientific and psychological viewpoint of the relationship between trauma and voice.

The documentary You’ll Say Nothing (winner of the 2017 ISSTD Media Award) and channel Psychology of Voice aim at starting and expanding a scientific conversation about trauma and voice that can benefit numerous fields involved in the study of trauma and dissociation, particularly concerning communication.
